The key figures

Carouge numbers almost 21 000 inhabitants. The surface area of the commune is 2.65 km2, mostly flat, at an altitude of 382 metres. It is overlooked to the south by the plateau of Pinchat, at a height of 426 metres. Sheltered by the Mont Salève and bordering the river Arve whose source is at the foot of the Mont-Blanc, Carouge is a city where it is pleasant to live.

With its 287 shops, its 138 bistro terraces in summer, a market three times a week, a flea market once a month, three theatres, a cinema, museum and an Olympic-size swimming pool, a change of scenery is guaranteed.

Lastly, the city of Carouge has no fewer than 9 administrative departments, a staff of 273 and over 30 professions!
